Club Updates

We have a few club updates to share, as you see we have a brand new site. The goal was to make sorting through everything prettier and more user friendly, especially on your mobiles. As of now a few of you who do not have a website and email me your recipes which is still okay, but now you can add your images to the link up through your Instagram account making it much easier for all of us. All you do is wait until the link up is added on the 10th and just submit your image link. Speaking of Instagram you may have noticed we have an Instagram footer down below now. Hashtag all of your club pictures with #menacookingclub and yours will be displayed as well, just make sure to wait until the reveal date.

Due to my injury, we were a bit behind the last few months, but life is starting to get more normal, so that’s great news for MENA as you see. We would love to showcase each one of you, your blog and much more here on the site. If you would like to share your blog or any blog and kitchen tips then please just email us the article and we will get it up. We would love to have more going on here on the site to send all the traffic we can to your fabulous blogs.

We have only 5 more days until the Malta recipes are due so be sure to have everything ready to go. Each one of you need to make sure that you post the link code into your post, without the link up members will not be able to hop around and comment. Remember that you should be writing something about the country that month and your experience with the recipe. Most of you are also a member of our Middle Eastern recipe Pinterest board so make sure to pin all the recipes with our hash tag as well. The ultimate goal is getting a lot of attention to Middle Eastern and North African cooking and your sites of course.

Also, does anyone have any recommendations on what we should do after we go through all the countries?

I do a get together each month, and we have a country and everyone on a rotating bases we fill 6 slots. Drinks, appetizers, salad or soup, main course, side and dessert. We could create whole meals with multiple ideas. Just an idea, or even one month be drinks, next month another.

G’day Noor! I am very excited about this month’s country and cuisine and am sure there are many more countries to explore!
I would welcome sharing my blog and did you want to send me some questions that I can answer, send photos with blog links etc. This way people get to know more about their fellow MENA food friends in a more personal sort of way!
Perhaps in the future every now and then, we could do a theme month ie. to make a cuisine about a place we have always dreams of going where people can not only cook a dish, describe why it is one of their dream destinations and this way people can include more about the geography, history, a custom, tradition etc….something more than just a recipe… Hope this helps!

The new website looks beautiful! After the countries are done you might pick a quintessential ingredient each month to showcase, or food inspired by a book or film from the region.

Thank you 🙂 I’m really happy with the outcome. I love all these new ideas, keep them coming 🙂 The only thing I know for sure is that I want to keep the food focused on Middle Eastern and Northern African cuisine.

Exactly, I meant ingredients like eggplant or olives or spices that are commonly used in Middle Eastern/North African cuisine, and books/movies of Middle Eastern/North African origin. PS love the logo – I am also a web designer, I love your simple and elegant style!

Hi, I have my recipes ready to put up for this month’s reveal, however, I am unsure how to do the whole link code thing? Sorry for being a total noob!
