Sarah makes Umm Ali for Egypt
Hi, everyone! Unfortunately I found two recipes too late in my spam box and although the challenges are over I felt like the creators still deserved a post for their hard word. A few months ago MENA cooked Egypt and Sarab B. chose to make the famous dessert Umm Ali. Here is her take on it.
I halved the recipe and used Puff Pastry, filled the middle with sunflower seeds, sliced almonds, chocolate chips and, cinnamon. Poured the milk, sugar, and vanilla mixture over it, let it soak, poured some heavy whipping cream over it all, and sprinkled a touch more cinnamon on top. Stuck it in a 450 degree oven for 10 minutes. It was fabulous.
